The next generation of hospitality may compete not only on where guests stay, but on how guests feel while they are there.Something significant is happening across travel, hospitality and real estate.Wellness is moving from the edge of the experience toward the center. The Global Wellness Institute's 2025 Global Wellness Economy Monitor estimates that the global wellness economy reached $6.8 trillion in 2024, growing 7.9% from the previous year. It projects the market to grow another 7.6% annually and reach approximately $9.8 trillion by 2029.Wellness tourism is also projected to grow by approximately 9.1% annually through 2029.These numbers represent more than the expansion of spas and retreats. They reflect a larger change in how consumers are prioritizing wellbeing in everyday life and, increasingly, while traveling.__________________________________________________________________________________________Wellness is becoming part of the development strategy The scale of investment entering the sector makes this particularly visible.A 2026 Global Wellness Summit survey featured by Forbes identified 33 anticipated wellness resorts and residential developments spanning hospitality, longevity, preventive health, recovery, fitness and wellness-focused living. The projects range from Equinox Resort and Residences AMAALA and Clinique La Prairie's forthcoming health resort in Saudi Arabia to Aman Miami Beach, Six Senses developments and new longevity-focused destinations around the world. What is especially interesting is not simply that more wellness resorts are being built. It is how deeply wellness is being integrated.Forbes describes a market moving beyond the traditional resort spa into residential environments, private clubs, urban developments, medical centers and communities where wellbeing is considered from the beginning rather than added later as an amenity. That has implications far beyond dedicated wellness resorts.__________________________________________________________________________________________Hotels do not need to become wellness retreats

A city hotel does not need a longevity clinic.

A boutique property does not need a twenty-room spa.

A resort does not need to turn every guest stay into a structured wellness program.

But hotels do need to recognize that the guest's relationship with wellness is changing.Luxury travelers are increasingly exposed to sophisticated experiences built around sleep, recovery, fitness, nutrition, beauty, mindfulness and personalized wellbeing. Those experiences influence expectations elsewhere. The question therefore becomes less: "Should our hotel become a wellness destination?"And more: "Where could wellness create meaningful value within our existing guest journey?"The opportunity is to create layersHospitality has always created differentiation through layers.

The room.

The bed.

The bath.

Food and beverage.

Design.

Service.

Destination.

Wellness is increasingly becoming another layer connecting those elements. For some properties, that may mean sophisticated spa and fitness programming. For others, it may mean better sleep.

Outdoor movement.

Healthier dining.

Mindfulness.

Recovery.

Beauty and personal care. Or small experiences guests can access without planning their day around them.

This last category deserves particular attention.Because the future of hotel wellness cannot depend exclusively on guests booking a treatment.__________________________________________________________________________________________Making wellness more accessible within the staySome of the world's most established wellness destinations demonstrate how broad the idea of self-care has already become.First in Service's review of luxury wellness resorts highlights experiences ranging from yoga, meditation and nutrition to spa treatments, outdoor activity, personal training, beauty and multi-day longevity programs. At Chablé Yucatán, for example, guests can move between yoga, meditation, spa experiences, cycling and personalized morning deliveries based on preferences selected at check-in.The common thread is not one particular treatment. It is the ability for wellness to touch multiple parts of the stay.Hotels outside the dedicated wellness category can learn from that principle without replicating the scale.__________________________________________________________________________________________Where Soomé fits Soomé approaches this opportunity through a smaller, highly flexible guest moment. The HydraCelix™ Hydrogel Mask was created for hospitality environments where hotels want to introduce a refined wellness experience without adding another staffed service. The experience is self-directed, individually sealed and easy to integrate across different hospitality touchpoints, including premium rooms, suites, VIP recognition, wellness packages, groups, retreats and selected destination experiences.

For the guest, the experience is simple.

A cooling reset after arrival.

Hydration after travel or activity.

A private moment before dinner.

A little time to themselves.

For the hotel, it offers another way to make wellness tangible within the stay.As the world's most ambitious hospitality developments invest billions into wellness, longevity and recovery, most hotels will not compete at that scale.Nor do they need to.The more relevant question is: "How can wellness become meaningful for the guests already staying with us?"The answer may begin with much smaller moments.👉 Explore Partnership Opportunities to bring Soomé’s signature wellness experience to your guests.__________________________________________________________________________________________Sources & Further Reading Global Wellness Institute — 2025 Global Wellness Economy Monitor Global Wellness Institute — Wellness Economy Reaches $6.8 Trillion Forbes — The 33 Most Anticipated New Wellness Resorts and Residences First in Service — Prioritize Self-Care at These 9 Luxury Wellness Resorts

From Amenity to Expectation: Wellness Is Becoming Part of the Hotel Product

Luxury hospitality is expanding wellness beyond the spa and into the everyday flow of the stay. For decades, hotel wellness had a recognizable address. The spa. The fitness center. The treatment room. Perhaps a morning yoga class overlooking the pool. Those experiences remain important, particularly in luxury hospitality. But the definition of wellness is becoming broader. Guests are increasingly looking for ways to rest, recover and recharge throughout the stay, not only during a scheduled treatment. That creates an interesting question for hotels: "What if some of the most relevant wellness moments of the future happen inside the guest room?"Wellness is moving closer to the guest Luxury hospitality is already beginning to explore this shift.Sofitel's examination of emerging wellness trends describes a future that is increasingly personalized, spanning sleep, skincare, recovery, mindfulness and technology-enabled experiences. It also highlights the rise of wellness-optimized rooms, where lighting, temperature and digital content can support rest and recovery without requiring the guest to visit another part of the hotel. At Sofitel Los Angeles, for example, guests can access in-room nature-inspired content and guided yoga, stretching, breathwork and meditation on demand, including sessions that can be completed in as little as five minutes. The significance is not the technology itself. It is where wellness is happening.Increasingly, the guest does not have to leave the room.

Guided Yoga
__________________________________________________________________________________________ Privacy is becoming part of wellbeing Hilton's 2026 Trends Report adds another dimension. Based on research involving more than 14,000 travelers across 14 countries, Hilton found that 27% of business travelers actively seek solo time during work trips, while 19% choose sleep over socializing with colleagues. Hilton describes the broader movement as “hushpitality,” reflecting travelers' growing interest in calm, quiet and opportunities to disconnect from the demands around them.
This matters because wellness is not always about doing more.Sometimes it is about having permission to do less.

After a flight.

Between meetings.

Before dinner.

After returning from the gym, pool or city.

For many guests, the hotel room is where those transition moments naturally happen. The guest room is already evolving Hotels have long invested in the room as a place for comfort and sleep.Premium bedding, blackout curtains, pillow menus, bath amenities, temperature control and turndown experiences have all contributed to making rest part of the hospitality product. Now the opportunity is becoming broader.Sofitel points to sleep enhancement programs, circadian lighting, optimal room temperatures and technology designed to support meditation, movement and recovery. The room is gradually becoming more than somewhere a guest sleeps. It is becoming an environment that can actively support how the guest wants to feel. That distinction opens new possibilities. Not every wellness experience needs an appointment A guest arriving after a long-haul flight may want twenty quiet minutes before dinner.A conference attendee may want to reset between the final session and an evening reception.Someone returning from a workout may simply want to cool down, hydrate and feel refreshed before continuing the day. These moments do not necessarily require another facility or an extensive wellness program. What they require is access at the right time. For hotels, that creates an opportunity to think about wellness in much the same way they think about other elements of the room experience: thoughtfully available when it becomes relevant. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Where Soomé sees the opportunity This evolving space between traditional hotel amenities and formal wellness services is central to the thinking behind Soomé.The Soomé HydraCelix™ Hydrogel Mask is designed as a self-directed, room-ready wellness experience that guests can use privately and on their own schedule.

Soomé HydraCelix™ Hydrogel Mask
Individually sealed and requiring no equipment, appointment, treatment room or staff-led service, HydraCelix™ creates approximately twenty minutes of cooling hydration within the guest's existing journey.

After travel.

After activity.

Before an evening out.

Between meetings. Or simply during a quiet moment inside the room.

It is not intended to compete with the spa.It addresses a different moment. As hotels continue to expand wellness beyond dedicated facilities, the next opportunity may not always be to create another place guests have to visit. It may be to reconsider what can happen in the space they already have. The guest room. 👉 Explore Partnership Opportunities to bring Soomé’s signature wellness experience to your guests. __________________________________________________________________________________________Sources & Further Reading Sofitel — Beyond Escape: How Wellness Trends Are Rewriting Your Travel StoryHilton — 2026 Trends Report: The Rise of the Whycation#WellnessTourism #HospitalityInnovation #LuxuryWellness #GuestExperience #Soomé #HydraCelixComplex #HydrogelMask #WellbeingDesign #Futuretravel

What if the next Wellness Space is already inside the Guest Room?

In the past, wellness was something travelers sought after arrival — a massage appointment, a yoga session, or perhaps a healthy meal option. Today, it starts before they even book.Across generations, the expectation for wellness has evolved from luxury to lifestyle. Guests now curate travel experiences that restore energy, reduce stress, and align with their personal values. For hotels, this means “wellness” can no longer be confined to a spa. It must be felt in every touchpoint of the stay — from the arrival experience to the guestroom itself.__________________________________________________________________________________________The Rise of Wellness Tourism According to the Global Wellness Institute, wellness tourism is one of the fastest-growing segments in global travel — projected to surpass $1 trillion USD by 2027. This isn’t just post-pandemic recovery; it’s a redefinition of what travel means. This growth isn’t just about health — it’s about intentional living. Guests are seeking:

Regenerative experiences over consumption.

Mindful environments over material luxury.

Rest and recovery over routine itineraries.

From business hotels incorporating guided breathing apps to resorts creating curated sleep programs, wellness has become the new standard of hospitality excellence.__________________________________________________________________________________________What Each Generation Wants

Gen Z & Millennials look for authentic, holistic care that fits their wellness lifestyle — rituals that restore skin and mind after long travel days.

Gen X seeks balance and vitality, combining productivity with restorative downtime.

Boomers, once focused on status, are now investing in longevity, comfort and sleep wellness.

While the motivations differ, one thing is clear: wellness defines their booking decisions. Travelers choose — and return to — hotels that make them feel cared for.__________________________________________________________________________________________Beyond Amenities: Designing Wellness TouchpointsFor today’s traveler, thoughtful wellness touchpoints are the new signature of premium hospitality.A hydrating ritual before sleep, the texture of a mask after a long-haul flight, or the scent of calm upon turndown service — these small but intentional gestures form emotional connections.Hotels are realizing that how guests feel during their stay shapes long-term loyalty more than any loyalty program.__________________________________________________________________________________________💧 Introducing Soomé: Elevating Wellness Through RitualBorn from the intersection of skincare science and hospitality design, Soomé was created to help hotels turn everyday care moments into restorative experiences. The brand’s HydraCelix™ Complex Hydrogel Mask is designed specifically with hospitality and spa partnerships in mind — blending performance skincare with sensorial wellbeing.Formulated to deeply hydrate, refresh, and revitalize tired skin, the mask transforms a simple skincare step into a signature moment of calm and renewal.Whether offered as a turndown amenity, spa enhancement, or in-room wellness feature, or as a VIP or welcome gift, Soomé brings a new layer of personalization to the guest experience. It also becomes a meaningful addition to romantic or honeymoon packages — a shared self-care ritual that allows couples to unwind together and create memorable moments of relaxation during their stay.Because whether guests are traveling for business, leisure, or celebration — female or male — we all seek moments of genuine comfort and care in the spaces we stay.👉 Explore Partnership Opportunities to bring Soomé’s signature wellness experience to your guests.__________________________________________________________________________________________🌸The Future of Wellness HospitalityAs wellness tourism continues to expand, the next evolution of luxury hospitality will be driven by intentional, sensorial wellbeing design. For hotels and resorts that want to stay ahead, wellness is not just an offering — it’s a mindset. For Soomé, it begins with one thoughtful gesture: a moment of hydration, restoration, and care that redefines the guest experience.__________________________________________________________________________________________#WellnessTourism #HospitalityInnovation #LuxuryWellness #GuestExperience #Soomé #HydraCelixComplex #HydrogelMask #WellbeingDesign

Korean beauty (K-beauty) has redefined how people approach skincare across the world. Rooted in hydration, gentle layering, and preventative care, it has grown from a regional phenomenon into a global movement. Today, K-beauty is not only reshaping beauty routines but also influencing wellness rituals, luxury hospitality, and the way consumers think about self-care. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Global Momentum: The Rise of K-Beauty The market for Korean beauty has surged in recent years. In 2024, the global K-beauty market was valued at USD 14–15 billion, with growth projected to continue at high single-digit rates¹.

Global K-Beauty Market Size and Forecast, 2019–2030 (Source: IMARC Group¹)

This momentum highlights how K-beauty has matured from a niche curiosity into a mainstream category with staying power. In the U.S. alone, imports of Korean cosmetics reached $1.7 billion in 2024², and Amazon reported a 78% year-over-year growth in K-beauty sales in 2023³.What makes K-beauty resonate so strongly across cultures?

Ritual-driven care: Multi-step routines offer not just results but also mindful practices.

Constant innovation: New textures, formats, and ingredient stories keep consumers engaged.

Wellness-first philosophy: Prevention and hydration over harsh quick fixes align with modern lifestyles. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Self-Care, Wellness, and the New Beauty Mindset Today’s beauty consumer is no longer buying products for vanity alone. Skincare has become an extension of mental health and wellbeing—a way to create daily rituals that provide calm, predictability, and comfort. Research shows the global wellness economy is valued at over $5 trillion, with personal care and beauty among the fastest-growing categories⁴.

This shift explains why K-beauty has taken root so strongly in the U.S. Its philosophy of layering hydration and protecting the skin barrier mirrors consumers’ desire for balance, ritual, and long-term vitality. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Quiet Luxury: The Future of Skincare Experiences As K-beauty matures in the U.S. market, the conversation is evolving. Consumers are increasingly drawn to quiet luxury—products that feel indulgent yet purposeful, sophisticated yet subtle. In hospitality and wellness settings, this translates into experiences that are restorative, sensorial, and memorable. It’s within this context that Soomé emerges. Inspired by the Korean words soom (breath) and soo (water), Soomé brings together mindfulness and hydration to craft rituals of renewal. Our approach reflects the same values that made K-beauty globally beloved—hydration, vitality, and ritual—but reframed for discerning guests and modern wellness programs. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Soomé HydraCelix™ Hydrogel Mask Soomé HydraCelix™ Hydrogel Mask is the first expression of this philosophy.

Formulated with NMN, peptides, ceramides, multi-weight hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide to deliver deep hydration and cellular vitality.

Infused with HydraCelix™ Complex, designed to restore radiance, calm, and balance.

Created for premium environments—from luxury suites and wellness resorts to curated spa experiences. For guests, it’s more than an amenity. It’s a transformative ritual—hydrating, soothing, and luminous. For hospitality partners, it’s a signature touch that elevates brand perception and enhances loyalty. ________________________________________________________________________________________

Why It Matters for Hospitality & Wellness The rise of K-beauty illustrates that skincare is no longer just about appearance—it’s about experience. Hotels, spas, and resorts that embrace this perspective can:

Differentiate guest offerings with thoughtful wellness amenities.

Strengthen loyalty through memorable, indulgent rituals.

Elevate brand image by aligning with global self-care trends. Quiet Luxury in Skincare: How K-Beauty Rituals Are Transforming the U.S. Market

Hotel amenities once meant small comforts — soap, shampoo, perhaps a robe. Over time, these became standard expectations across nearly every property. Today, that baseline no longer satisfies. Guests want experiences that feel curated, personal, and reflective of their lifestyle. This shift is being driven by a growing focus on wellness. According to the American Express 2023 Global Travel Trends Report, 88% of travelers plan to spend the same or more on wellness-focused vacations compared to previous years. 73% are booking trips to improve their mental, physical, and emotional health, while 43% have chosen hotels specifically because of spa and wellness amenities. Among younger travelers, the demand is even stronger — 60% of Gen Z and Millennials go out of their way to book hotels that offer spa and wellness services.¹

For hoteliers, this is more than a trend. It signals a new baseline expectation. Guests are looking for thoughtful touches that help them decompress, feel healthier, and feel truly seen.Leading hotel groups are already rethinking their approach:

Climate-Smart Skincare Kits: lightweight hydrating gels for humid climates, richer creams for colder destinations, including Soomé’s signature Hydrogel Mask, designed specifically for hospitality and wellness-driven guest experiences.

Wellness-Centric Amenities: sleep masks, hydrogel mask, meditation apps, aromatherapy oils.

Generational Touchpoints: digital concierge guides for younger guests, curated print guides for older guests.

Sustainable Packaging: bulk dispensers and biodegradable containers that reduce single-use plastics.²

By introducing solutions like Soomé’s Hydrogel Mask early in the amenity experience, hotels can align with the high-demand wellness trend, offering products that feel both premium and purposeful. Amenities, in this new context, are no longer just conveniences. They’re a business advantage — a chance to express brand values, strengthen guest loyalty, and build connections that extend far beyond the stay itself. At Soomé, we are introducing wellness-driven formulations and thoughtfully designed products specifically for hotels and their guests. By combining performance-focused skincare, sustainable design, and personalized experiences, we turn everyday amenities into meaningful, memorable touchpoints that elevate the guest experience. _________________________________________________________________________________________ ¹ Source: American Express 2023 Global Travel Trends Report ² Source: Sustainable Hospitality Alliance – Planet Conscious Amenities Pack & single-use plastic initiatives (https://sustainablehospitalityalliance.org)
